Minute To Win It Party
Could you balance 6 dice with a popsicle stick held in your mouth for 1 minute? How about removing all the tissues from the tissue box with one hand?
Do you watch NBC’s Minute To Win It every week and wish you could try these crazy challenges? If so, maybe it’s time to host a Minute To Win It party!
How to host a minute to win party
- These parties are ideal for pre-teens, teenagers, girls’ night out or adult couples.
- Invitations: buy inexpensive stopwatches and attach party information to the stopwatch. The stopwatch also makes a great party favor!
- Choose your challenge based on the ages of your guests and the supplies you have on hand…this keeps it budget friendly!
- All challenges are done in teams of 2, so when guests arrive, have them reach for their hat to find out which team they belong to. For more fun, come up with silly names for the teams!
- Keep it simple, no complicated rules, after all…we play for prizes, not a million dollars!
- Each team that completes the challenge in 1 minute or less gets 1 point.
- All teams start the challenge at the same time. Make sure you have plenty of family members to help keep time and make sure the challenges are done correctly. There are a few challenges that are easier to do 1 team at a time, like the Foul Shot.
- Buy a selection of prizes and the team with the most points gets first pick! Second place gets the second choice, third place the third choice, and so on.
A minute to beat it challenges
NBC offers a full list of Minute to Win It Challenges, but I’ve come up with a few that are great for teenage girls. Be sure to start that stopwatch because all challenges must be completed in a minute or less!
- Pyramid Power – Starting with 8 dixie cups at the bottom, build a 36 cup pyramid.
- Double Bubble – Choose one team member to blow a bubble inside a bubble.
- Dress up the statue – One team member dresses the other using all the items in the bag. The person being dressed is not allowed to raise their arms or legs, hence the name Dress a Statue!
- Cupcake Chaos – Decorate your cupcakes using all the ingredients in the bag. Note: These cupcakes can be used later as a birthday cake!
- String Thing – Cut this string together into 30 equal parts! No measuring tape or lines allowed.
- A three-legged race – Before the stopwatch starts, we will tie one of your legs together. Can you and your partner go 100 yards per minute?
- Paint my toenails – Choose one team member to paint the others’ toenails. It must be cool!
- Braid It! – Choose one team member to braid the others’ hair into two braids. All hair must be used (except bangs) and hairbrushes must not be used!
- Throwing a tennis ball – Throw tennis balls into the bucket. You have to get 5 in!
- Roll, roll, roll – Choose one team member to hold the roll of toilet paper, the other must unroll the toilet paper without tearing it.
- Chopstick Challenge – Choose one team member to use chopsticks with one hand to move 30 miniature marshmallows from one bowl to another.
- Foul play – Choose one team member to make 10 foul shots! Another team member can help with the purchase by picking up the ball.
- Book balance – Choose one team member to walk 20 feet balancing 3 books on their head!
- Say cheese – Throw a piece of American cheese at your partner’s forehead and stick it!
- Thread Needle – Thread 10 needles.
- Chocolate unicorn – Stack 4 Ding Dongs on your partner’s forehead while they stand and lean back.
The possibilities for Minute To Win It Challenges are endless! Remember to test the challenges and adapt according to your age group and the length of the party.
The countdown is on for another fun and thrifty party from the Budget Diet girl!
