Get Your Fill at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Orlando
What is it all about?
Time travel begins when visitors arrive at Orlando Castle in Kissimmee and find themselves in medieval Spain. For two hours, valiant knights on trusty steeds engage in epic sword fights and jousting tournaments against the backdrop of electronic music and lighting. The entertainment is enhanced by colorful costumes, great horsemanship, hand-to-hand combat and falconry. In the middle of the excitement, a story of love and courage unfolds in the 11th century, when guests are served a delicious four-course feast.
Choose your favorite knight and cheer him on. Choose Don Iofre Santa Creuthe Black and White Knight, Don Alberto del Mau Blue Knight, Don Eduardo del Rey Yellow Knight, Baron Ruiz de Roig Red Knight, Don Temple Green Knight or Lord del Font Red and Yellow Knight.
What’s for dinner?
Depending on the era, guests are encouraged to eat with their hands. Delicious treats include roast chicken, herb potatoes, ribs, garlic bread, tomato bisque and castle pastries. The party includes two rounds of non-alcoholic drinks and coffee at the end. But don’t worry; A full service bar is also available.
The vegetarian feast includes hummus with warm pitta bread and carrot and celery sticks, three-bean stew and rice, Italian ice cream or fresh fruit and non-alcoholic drinks. Vegetarian visitors are advised to request this option when booking.
What else to see and do?
When guests are bored, the Medieval Torture Museum and Artifacts in the Armory offer an interesting peek. However, those who want to dance to the excesses of the four-course feast will also find the dance floor and bar to keep the fun going well into the night.
When is the best time to go and how much does it cost?
Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament is a very popular attraction in Orlando, so it’s best to make reservations to avoid disappointment. Tickets are $59.95 for adults and $39.95 for children 12 and under. This does not include taxes and handling fees or gratuity. Children under 3 can enter for free, but must sit on their parents’ laps.
Additional packages are also available, including VIP seating, a framed entrance photo, a knight cheering banner, a behind-the-scenes DVD, a commemorative program and other extras. Choose from King’s Royalty Package, Royalty Package and Party Package. See their website for more information.

The castle opens 75 minutes before the show. This gives visitors plenty of time to pick up a few souvenirs from the gift shop and see the knightly ceremonies and the falconry master with his birds of prey. However, seating is first-come, first-served, so patrons may want to save for the gift shop after the show.
