Teach Your Baby To Crawl With This Reliable 5-Step System

Parents often ask how to help their baby crawl.

If I had to narrow down the best path to 5 steps, these would be my 5P walkthrough system.

Many parents know that crawling is one of the most important milestones for babies to master. This is a crucial time when the baby becomes stronger, learns the environment, improves visual skills and improves physical abilities.

Crawling is a natural skill that most babies learn automatically. But often it just doesn’t happen – for a number of really good reasons.

Just as poorly controlled babies often don’t like to lie on their stomachs. And good head posture is one of the key skills a child needs to learn to crawl. So, if head control is acquired later than usual, tracking may also be slower than usual.

This is when parents usually start asking for help to teach their baby to crawl.

Mostly only professionals know how to teach babies to crawl. But still only a few proven techniques are used. Essentially, most of these techniques encourage your child to become more tolerant of lying on his stomach.

But there is one technique that I have found to work very well, is safe to try, and can be done by any parent.

I call it the 5P Baby Crawling System. It’s a logical 5-step system that almost any baby can use to crawl in no time.

Let’s look at the 5P steps separately…

P – Put it on the carpet. The very first thing any baby must master before they have any hope of learning to crawl… is to be comfortable lying down. You can get great results with this by talking to the baby and playing with it when it is on the mat.

P – Assemble a roller. Roll an ordinary bathroom towel into a “sausage”. Of course, you can also buy any other type of roller. These are soft, cylindrical shaped toys…preferably compact. There are inflatable ones, but solid ones usually last much longer and can also be used to teach your child to sit and walk.

P – Placement on the roller. Gently place the “sausage” under the baby’s upper body…with the arms hanging over the front of the “sausage”. The towel “sausage” supports your upper body – NOT your stomach – with your elbows just touching the mat. He should raise his upper body slightly, allowing him to explore the environment. Make sure your elbows are touching the mat – not hanging in the air.

P – Position the elbows. You have to do something now. Gently grab the baby by the elbows and pull them towards your body. It will almost look like your child wants to lie on your elbow. Please continue to provide support.

P – Finish in front. This is the most important step. Get down on the ground directly in front of your child and face him. Let your baby look into your face while you talk to him, entertaining and encouraging him.

The idea is to encourage your child to stay on his tummy for longer periods of time. Your baby needs to focus on you and will then spontaneously develop the feeling of using both his elbows and legs for support. If you do it right, you’ll soon see yourself propped up on both knees and straight arms…ready to crawl.

The power of this 5P system is to raise your baby’s upper body to view its surroundings… all while lying down.

It only takes a few minutes a day to see the results. Obviously, if you fit in more than once a day, the results will be faster.

The bottom line is that baby walking is easy and important, but unfortunately we neglect it unnecessarily. But anyone can use this 5-step mapping system to achieve clockwork results.
