#2. In addition to diet, proper fitness training is essential for building and strengthening muscles. Using heavy weights during exercise will help you develop strength, endurance and muscle mass. Weight training combined with increased calorie and protein intake encourages your body to build muscle tissue. When muscle tissue grows, you also gain strength. The combination of weight training and the right diet is a key factor in a muscle fitness plan. If the right combination is not followed, you will burn not only fat but also muscle instead of building it.
#3. Add cardio to your workout routine. This is very important because Cardio builds your endurance and strengthens your heart. You can do this by running, cycling, rowing, etc. for long distances, or by other short-duration, high-energy exercises like hill running, swimming, etc.
#4. Take a multivitamin and other nutrients. The fresh vegetables we get from the market today are not nearly as good for us as they were back in the 1950s and much less than they were at the turn of the 20th century. This is due to the severe erosion of the topsoil and the early harvesting required to get the fruits and vegetables to market before they spoil. We mainly buy products that are not fully ripe, so they have not reached their full nutritional value. The American Medical Association now recommends that every American take a daily multivitamin.
#5. Drink lots of water. I’m not talking about calorie-packed energy drinks, soda or diet soda, etc., I’m talking about good old h20. Our bodies need a lot of water to keep us properly hydrated and to help remove unhealthy toxins from our system. Drink 6-8 8 oz. glass a day for good health.
Although many local health clubs offer the best strength training equipment, it is not absolutely necessary to join a gym just to work out. You can also train at home. There are many different fitness equipment manufacturers out there that offer effective weight training equipment at very affordable prices. As long as you keep in mind, have the basic equipment, and stay constantly aware of your health and fitness, a physical fitness program should work well as long as you stick with it.
