Baby Sharky Brush Review
This is what I know about teething after having two children who chose to grow teeth.
1. Teething is unpleasant for everyone involved.
2. I am the perfect human pacifier.
3. I can’t be a perfect human pacifier every day.
4. Teething is unpleasant for everyone involved. Seriously.
When my firstborn started teething, I tried many different things. I tried small tubes of gel goo. I bought a bunch of rubbery items. I froze the washcloths. And I even bought this stupid little necklace that looked like a bunch of detergent gel bags strung together. It popped out. Nobody cared.
I ended up being the human pacifier, and while it worked, it drove me a little crazy more than once. So when my second child’s first teeth started coming in, I went into overdrive trying to figure out what would be the perfect, most comfortable teething device…that doesn’t breathe or want to shower regularly.
I tried the wooden tooth. No dice. I bought a very expensive little giraffe. He was in my son’s “crowd” for about a week, but don’t worry, he’s now secret BFFs with the dog. And in desperation, I offered my son a wide variety of wooden cooking utensils to use as toothpicks, but he instead used them as chopsticks in a game where I played the role of the four-legged mutt.
I rarely shop at Babies R Us. But one day, for one reason or another, I found myself there. I was walking around the feeding section when I came across this little guy.
A friend of mine told me about the crazy, visually amazing Baby Banana toothbrush. So I bought it for about $8. And my son fell in love with that little banana sucker.
In fact, I loved this little guy so much that I wrote to the company saying that their product was awesome… and also mentioned that I write a blog and would love to give away one of these little guys. But the folks at Live-Right Solutions did one better. They sent me their new baby sharky brush. And this is what I thought:
Like the Baby Banana toothbrush holder, the Sharky is easy to grip. I mean, it’s really easy. I mean really, like my son is holding the little blue shark like it’s made of $100 bills because he doesn’t want to give it up.
Sharky’s fins keep my son from bonding with Sharky, which has saved me from running around like a midget on fire every time I decide my son has been quiet for too long.
Sharky is disease free. The Baby Shark Brush is made from 100% medical grade silicone and is BPA, phthalate and latex free.
Sharky is soft and chewy… which is probably the best part.
Sharky can stand up! Hallelujah for a stand up cogwheel! This keeps me from spending time figuring out how to lay Sharky down without getting dust or other crap that would require washing.
Sharky can be attached to one of these pacifier leashes. I don’t have one…because I guess I still like to play mommy.
Sharky’s little bristles must be delicious because my son loves them. And the bristles don’t separate from the clipper. Sharky is a piece.
Sharky is dishwasher safe… because what good is a shark that can’t handle hot water?
So far none really. I have been using the Baby Banana toothbrush for over a month and Sharky for a few weeks. So far we have all lived peacefully without complaint.
Don’t let the toothbrush in the title fool you. Although this toothpick can be used for brushing, it is not the only task. This product is an AWESOME toothbrush and I think it would make an ideal first toothbrush. But I haven’t used it to brush my teeth yet.
Disclaimer: Live-Right Solutions sent me a Baby Sharky Brush to test and keep, but that was only after I contacted them and told them how fabulous I thought their other products were. I would never write a review for a product I didn’t like, and if there’s something I didn’t like about this product, I’ll definitely write about it.
