Another problem with processed foods is that in most cases processing removes much of the nutritional value they provide. Even worse, other things like sugar or salt are usually added to improve the taste or extend the shelf life. The result is that processed foods not only don’t give us all the nutrition we need, they can actually harm us.

Most people eat processed foods because they are so convenient. However, in most cases, natural foods such as meat and vegetables can be just as convenient. One of the good things about the low-carb diet craze is that it has made unprocessed foods much more widely available. If you want to stay healthy, one of the keys is to start eating like our ancestors did, it’s the way your body was designed to work. The best way to do this is to follow the so-called caveman diet, as there is a lot of information on this type of diet online.
